Practical methods of change

So we've all seen how bad things are getting and I'd just like to go through what I think is the most prudent method of change. Lets first look at the methods traditionally proposed.

Voting for the lesser of two evils: The problem with this method is that when the rich have all the leverage, all you will ever get is evil, no matter what. They might swing slightly right of center to wildly right of center from time to time but you still get the same thing. Evil.

Voting your conscience: This no doubt is what was intended for democracy but as before monied interests have the leverage over politicians. This method can be seen as a way to shift a two party system slightly right or left depending what the third party is but it's still not going to get much done.

Protest: This one like voting your conscience is a method of shifting one of the parties left or right but still suffers the same problem as the other two. A sever lack of any real leverage.

Strikes: A good way of gaining leverage, however, they require a vast amount of organization and sacrifice on behalf of a large portion of the population. While not as technically impractical as the other's, this method is none the less, much more difficult to pull together.


So then, what option do we have that will work? Capitalism. Capitalism has within it, the seeds of it's own destruction. See the difference between capitalism, and outright aristocracy is that the means by which governance of the company is bestowed is not gifted by god, it's gifted by partial ownership. And that you can buy.

yes I'm talking about literally banding together to outright buy the rights of the means of production from the capitalists. A central organization which we can stand behind, which will buy common stock in the largest companies. Now, there are questions as to when we gift the means of production to the workers. We could do it on a company by company basis as they are acquired (we'd only need 51% for this to work) or wait until we have a sizeable portion of the worlds economy and structure everything as communal democratically planned economy. Obviously both have their advantages and disadvantages, and both would require centuries to work, but work they can. There is nothing standing in the way of this plan, nothing the capitalists can do can stop it, they could break up the organization but the splinters would just work together as separate organizations, anything they do to it would boomerange back to them, and best of all any attempts at screwing the middle class and making more money for themselves would greatly accelerate the process. Even better yet, in the mean time, with partial control (say 25% of walmart) it would not be unforeseeable that we could have a presence in the decision making processes of these corporations and mitigate the worst of their actions in the mean time.

Just some thoughts. Organization would be just as hard as with any of the other methods, but it's one that cannot be stopped by the capitalists without the capitalists destroying themselves.

If it had any real chance of changing the system, they'd make it illegal.

That's the beauty of it, they can't without either seriously hampering themselves, or destroying themselves, since it would literally be just using their own system against them. At most they could destroy the central organization, but it could still exist as an unofficial agreement amoung people. And once it's got some real staying power, it can buy off the government just as much as the next organization. I mean look at the NRA, now imagine how much more people are going to be willing to give for freedom over guns.... what? why are you laughing at me?
