Hi from Boston... soon to be Long Beach
Hi, jinx from LBC here!
For a supposed "liberal stronghold,"
Boston is chock-full of angry, stupid, Tea Party-sympathizing, bourgeoise asshole, Scott Brown-voting-types.
Then, you have the Harvard "lefties" who, in actuality, have the same politics as the old Harvad republicans of Sarge Shriver's day, but the country has moved right... and down.
Occasionally, if you venture into Central Square, you get some of the Lucy Parsons crowd, but I tell you what--
we could use more George Monbiots and fewer Howie Carrs in our local journalism.
Demagoguery works, unfortunately. So, anyone know how to completely reverse the direction of the country? I'm all ears... and guns

oh yeah, that other info
thanks!
so the other stuff...
big fan of Weber, Marx, Spinoza, Chomsky, David Harvey, Setha Low, but i do believe that ideas are always works in progress-- it's rare that that anything more specific than a commitment to human rights, ethical treatment of fellow people, and a belief in progress can stand the test of time without a little tweaking or reconsideration. We are all iterations in a multi-generational loop, and it is our duty as human beings to fight for a just, healthy, and equitable world, and find the most humane ways to deal with anti-social and dangerous elements.
the fireworks so far just include a Glock 19 (2nd Gen), and next purchases I hope will be:
CZ75 or variant
.22 (maybe ruger, maybe an M&P, open to suggestions)
1911 (prob rock island-- no desire to spend megabucks)
S&W 642 or similar wheelgun
mini 9mm... maybe Beretta Nano or that new new one, Kahr, or sr9c

In the party I previously belonged to, the Boston comrades were the funnest to hang out with. They drank, smoked, and got in fist fights. And they talked funny.
We need more of those guys.

And there's why I don't vote Democrat anymore.jinxremoving wrote:Then, you have the Harvard "lefties" who, in actuality, have the same politics as the old Harvad republicans of Sarge Shriver's day, but the country has moved right... and down.

Hey jinx, I found you something reportedly quite close to Long Beach: Insight Indoor Shooting Range
A review of the place seems pretty positive, and it looks like you can shoot most anything there.
