Labor Day is bullshit

Labor Day was begun in the 19th century by the leadership of big labor unions that had been co- opted by the capitalists running the Democratic Party.
Afraid that American workers would be influenced by the revolutionary anarchist and socialist movements of the real labor day, ( May 1, or International Worker's Day ), the U.S. government declared the first Monday of September as Labor Day. This achieved its goal of diverting the attention of American workers from solidarity with other workers from around the world to an exercise in nationalism and loyalty only to a particular union under the thumb of bourgeoise politicians.
Of course such a shallow event has degenerated into just another 3- day weekend significant only for football, bratwurst, and big box store sales.
Of course the irony is that most American workers do not have Labor Day off. But you can be damn sure that their bosses do.
Fuck Labor Day. Long live International Worker's Day!

Agreed, but there's no point in stressing over something we cannot change. I say instead we "us" make up a holiday like "we" did on the last day of school and meet at the ocean shore with our surfboards and a 5th. We called it "skip day".

A holiday that involves a 5th, sounds like an awesome idea.
