gun control: the cut off point
Someone has said that we all agree that there should be a limit, and that we all just disagree on that limit, here is my response
The cutoff point is not one that should be made on the tools, but on the people. Sure a guy with sarin gas is going to kill more people (by the way sarin gas and C4 are bad examples they're already easy to get illegally, most people don't because they aren't homicidal maniacs). The point is Whether it's Sarin Gas or a knife if you want to kill people, your going to kill people. And yeah, sarin will kill more. The problem is that you're killing in the first place. Now should sarin be more restrictive than a semi-auto rifle? yeah, it's dangerous to have around even if you are trained and even if you DON'T intend to do anyone harm. Same with nitroglycerine and C4. So those things need to be left to those who are highly trained in their safe use. (which by the way for explosives we already do, and they are still legal to own with the proper license.)
the same can be said for ALL guns to varying degrees. muzzle loaders right on up to Semi Auto EBR's need training to be safe. A license system would be great which would be accompanied by a safety/training class like they have for concealed carry. And something like CDL for fully automatics as well that's a bit more involved.
What you don't do is ban a certain type of item for everyone, because not EVERYONE is the problem.
